Spaces
A space is the shared books - just you, a family, household, roommates, or a trip. Its a place to record and share budgets, expenses, savings goals, and more.
Start new
From the dropdown user menu or your Account, choose Start new. Give it a name people will recognize. That name is what everyone with access to the space sees to identify the space.
The person who creates a space is the owner. They can invite people, rename the space, set the timezone, and edit default bills for a new month.
Join with an invite link or code
An owner or co-manager creates an invite on Manage space. You can:
- Open the invite link they sent and sign in or create an account.
- Or sign in first and choose Join with a code, then enter the code.
Joining someone else’s space does not use up a space you own. You can join as many spaces as you are invited to.
Switch
Tap the name at the top of the app. This opens the dropdown user menu which contains the switcher. Pick another space you belong to. Home, Budgets, Activity, and Add all stay inside the space that is open.
On your Account page you can mark one space as Home. That is where you land after sign in automatically.
Rename and timezone
Owners and co-managers open Manage space. The name is what people see for the space. The timezone is what the space uses for “today” when Today's pace and other dates are calculated.
Leave
Manage space has a leave flow. If you are the only owner, you must hand the space to someone else before you can leave. Books stay with the space - leaving does not delete other people’s budgets. (The primary space owner can contact our privacy team anytime to delete a space they own and its related books, otherwise all financial data in a space stays with the space owner if you leave one.)
