Expenses and money in

The Add link (the sunny yellow + button in the menu bar) is how you quickly record expenses or extra money in. Enter amount first for an expense (or select that it was money in), then select which budget to apply it to and if it counts toward a set-aside plan.

Log spend

  1. Tap the center Add button (or Add from a budget).
  2. Enter the amount.
  3. Leave the flow on Spent.
  4. Pick the budget if more than one is open.
  5. Pick Everyday spending, or a set-aside / bill.
  6. Optional note or merchant desc. Save.

After you record a new expense, Moneytabs shows the updated leftover per day (or week) so you can see what changed in Today's pace.

Log money in

Use Money in for cash that was not already inside the planned total - a reimbursement, an extra shift, something you sold, a friend paying you back.

  • Everyday - raises Today’s pace.
  • A set-aside - tops that planned set-aside up so the extra stays reserved.

A paycheck you already counted in the month’s planned budget total is not money in. Do not log it again or the leftover number will pretend you have more than you planned.

Activity

Activity lists spend, money in, savings moves, and budget start / end events, newest first. You can open an item’s related budget from there.

Remove a mistake

On the budget (or a savings goal), members can remove an item they added. Owners and co-managers can remove anyone’s item. Remove writes a matching reversal - it does not silently rewrite history - so the leftover number goes back to what it was, and its still visible in audit mode.

Who can add

Members, co-managers, and owners can add. Viewers can look at Activity and the budget, but the Add button will not work for them.
