Savings

A savings goal is money you are putting aside over time. It is not a budget, but you can link a savings goal to a planned set-aside in a budget.

Create a goal

From Home or Budgets start New savings. Give it a name, a target amount, and an optional date you are aiming for. Everyone in the Space can see the same goal and the progress.

Add or take out

Open the goal and log money added or money taken out. Use a short note if you want (“June leftover,” “car repair”). The running total is what has been added minus what has been taken out.

This is still books inside the space - its not a bank account. As a reminder, moving money here does not move money at a bank. This means if you move the actual money and don't have a linked account connection*, you also will need to record it in your Space, otherwise the Savings goal will show that you have money that you don't still have. (*Financial account linking is a future unreleased premium feature, which will be entirely optional.)

From a closed month

When a month finishes under budget, the budget screen can move that leftover onto a savings goal. That posts as money taken off the month and money added to the goal, so both records stay synced.

Not a budget slot

Savings goals do not count toward the Free plan’s three active budgets. Close or archive a month if you need a slot back; leaving a goal open does not use that cap.
